Best  Spielberg Directed Movies

10. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

The third installment of the franchise and still as good as the first as you have already invested in the Harrison Ford character. Adding Connery to the mix gave us a little family drama in an adventure in treasure hunting.

9. The Goonies

Kids on an adventure made better than any other kids movie to date

8. War of the Worlds

What may be the best Tom Cruz movie, yes I said it, War of the Worlds came to life with a great cast and intense story line. Based on the fact of the #'s 8,9 and 10 movies in this put Schindler's List, The Color Purple and Ready Player One off the list, you are in for quite the list.

7. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

The first sequel of the series with another great storyline. Shortround steals the show in much of this movie as he injected a lot of light-hearted humor and still maintained the adventure aspects.

6. E.T. the Extra Terrestrial

Iin some ways, but it may have been one of the first movies that started a craze in which it generated so much buzz that people kept going to see it over and over. It also showed that not all aliens have to be trying to take over earth.

5. Poltergeist

This movie revolutionized the paranormal. It really began the obsession of ghosts, spirits and demons. The cast was amazing and having a curse that hovers around the movie helps its' folk lore.

4. Jurassic Park

For most directors, this would be #1 on almost anyone else's list. But this is Spielberg and he temds to make gem after gem. This was the ultimate dinosaur movie when released and is still the benchmark.

3. Saving Private Ryan

Hanks. Do you need other reasons? OK then, how about the fact that this movie saw soldiers in a whole new light. When there wasn't epic battle scenes like the incredible last battle or the sniper scene, you see the very vulnerable soldiers talk about their own lives or struggle with decisions made within themselves. A fantastic epic.

2. Raiders of the Lost Ark

This started the fantastic journey of Indiana Jones. Going up against nazi Germany, Jones in search of the Ark has so many near misses of death, being captured and trying to preserve the Ark from being used by Nazi's. It was one of the most successful series of movies and this movie made Indy one of the most know characters in movie history.

1. Jaws

This may be a bit of a surprise to some movie fans, and I totally get it. How is this the best of Spielberg? If not for Rocky, this movie would have won an Oscar for best picture. This movie changed people in such a way that most people were afraid to swim in the ocean after they saw this. It also sparked a worldwide bounty on sharks which Spielberg was not trying to do. It was both terrifying coupled with a great story. The cast was simply perfect as it blended the drama of a killer shark with a sprinkle of politics.

Best Kevin Bacon Movies

10. Mystic River

A powerful movie about how secual abuse can torment someone. Bacon plays a detective on the case.

9. Sleepers

Another story about sexual abuse but this time Bacon plays one of the guards abusing the boys under his watch.

8. Stir of Echoes

A supernatural thriller with Bacon playing a guy with visions.

7. Apollo 13

Bacon is more of a supporting role, but this movie is a great movie. We watch as the Apollo 13 mission comes to life.

6. White Water Summer

Bacon plays a wilderness guide that tends to be a little too serious about his job. He pushes a group of kids too much along with degrading them, but the kids strike back. Could be higher up on the list, but we settled on it here.

5. Hollowman

Bacon can do an evil scientist as well as anyone. Here the power of invisibility draws him in to a dark dark place.

4. Flatliners

Just how far can they push themselves to the point of no return? Bacon is ppart of a group that tries to die and see how long they can be dead and still come back to tell about it.

3. Footloose

Here is the movie that made Kevin Bacon famous. I love this movie, but he was just beginning his long career and wasn't a good actor as of yet. That was why this movie only made it to #3.

2. The River Wild

Bacon play a crook that is trying to escape by going down the rapids. Unknowing that the river has a dangerous section he needs to get through and takes a family hostage so he can make it safely. Could easily be #1 and in fact I couldn't decided for a while.

1. Death Sentence

This may be a surprise to everyone, but this movie was fantastic. There hasn't been a good revenge movie since the original Death Wish. This movie brings you beyond that with an incredible story, great action and a thrill ride the entire way.
