Always Working
by Ron Rego

Keanu Reeves seems to be one of those stars that has grown more in a cult legacy than a legend. He has had much criticism toward his acting but yet has had an amazing career with multiple franchises that are big hits. You need need to look very far before you find The Matrix series of movies as some of movie fans favorite. Then throw in franchises like John Wick and Bill & Ted and you have a stars impact on movie fans real. Oh, by the way there is Speed and Point Break. Two movies I have seen at least a dozen times (Point Break maybe more than 2 dozen).

Since 1991, he has been in at least one movie per year except for 1998 and 2004. Although not his first acting gig, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure put him on the map in 1989. In 1991 however, that started the buzz about Reeves as he then starred in Point Break, the sequel Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey and My Own Private Idaho. But in 1994 he became a mega-star when Speed was released making him and Sandra Bullock household names.
The Devils Advocate, Constantine and 47 Ronin all added to his action star status, but it is Matrix and John Wick that are the cream of the crop for action. Both of which he is training for now to do the fighting scenes for the two franchises going into production. Both of which are set to release the same day, May 21,2021. We are not sure how this will shake out, because there is no way both will be released the same day. My guess, one will be pushed back to July.

That 70's Show actor, Danny Masterson, has been charged with raping three women. Masterson played Steven Hyde on all eight seasons of the show. The charges of rape were at various times during the early 2000's. He also appeared on Netflix comedy The Ranch with Ashton Kutcher, who also was on That 70's Show. Masterson was fired in 2017 when the LAPD had announced he was under investigation.

Masterson played in all 200 episodes of That 70's Show from 1998 to 2006. The allegations came about in 2016 with the investigation following in 2017. Last year, Masterson, who is a Scientologist, and the Church of Scientology were sued by four women who alleged that they and their families had been harassed and stalked by members of the Church of Scientology for reporting the rapes. Variety reported that Masterson was arrested by LAPD on Wednesday (6-17-20) morning on three counts of rape. His bail was $3.3 million and was released.

The charges allege that Masterson raped a 23-year-old woman sometime in 2001, a 28-year-old woman in April 2003, and another 23-year-old woman in late 2003. There were two other cases that LAPD had been investigatingbut has not pursued due to insufficient evidence in one case and statute of limitations in the other.
Masterson released a statement through his attorney denying the charges and will fight to clear his name. If convicted, he faces up to 45 years in prison. It is not known yet if the women had anything to do with That 70's Show or if it was out of the studio.
